Emergency Department
The Emergency Department at Mammoth Hospital is open 24-hours; seven days a week for anyone needing immediate medical attention. We welcome walk-in visits; no appointment is needed. Our specially-trained emergency staff are ready to provide acute medical care to visitors and residents alike.
Our modern facility is supported by:
- First-rate equipment
- A seven-bed triage area
- A decontamination room
- A two-bay trauma resuscitation suite
- Nine private exam rooms
Adjacent to the Emergency Department is Mammoth Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department with digital X-ray, fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasound, multi-detector CT scan, and MRI. Additional support is provided by the hospital’s Respiratory Department, in-patient Pharmacy, and Laboratory with blood bank.
Emergency patients needing further care can be admitted to the Med/Surg unit, ICU, or operating room. Should any patient’s medical needs exceed the resources of Mammoth Hospital, we will arrange for transport to a larger medical center.
Award Winning Patient Care
Mammoth Hospital’s Emergency Department has been recognized with the Summit Award for the third time in three years for advancing the quality of health care in the community of Mammoth Lakes by achieving and sustaining excellence in patient satisfaction.
