Mammoth Hospital Awarded for Outstanding Patient Care

Mammoth Hospital was recently recognized for two awards through patient satisfaction survey organization Press Ganey: The Pinnacle of Excellence and Guardian of Excellence for providing outstanding patient care.

The Pinnacle of Excellence for Patient Experience award recognizes Mammoth Hospital’s Inpatient services (Medical Surgical and Intensive Care Units) for demonstrating excellence for a minimum of three consecutive years in patient experience. The Guardian of Excellence was awarded to Mammoth Hospital’s Emergency Department as well as Inpatient services for hospitals who have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience, awarded annually based on one year of data.

This is the second year in a row that Mammoth Hospital has won the Pinnacle of Excellence Award for Inpatient Services, ranking in the 98th percentile overall. “The nurses in Med/Surg and ICU strive to provide personalized care for our patients; we work hard at ensuring the patient experience is just as memorable as their care,” says Brandy Wilt, Inpatient Services Director.

Mammoth Hospital has won the Guardian of Excellence award for its Emergency Department every year since 2013. “We heed the constructive feedback we receive from these patient surveys and make changes where we can,” says Emergency Physician Chris Hummel. “For instance, in response to our Press Ganey reports, we improved our outside signage to make it easier to find the Emergency Department at night.”

“Maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity are key,” says Emergency Department Manager Ali Miller. “To that end, most of our Emergency Department’s exam rooms are fully enclosed, and our GYN room even has its own private bathroom. We also recently installed unobtrusive, voice-masking white noise generators in the ED to prevent others from overhearing private conversations.”
