Mammoth Hospital Offering Free Childbirthing Classes Starting July 18th
For many pregnant women, even if they already have a child, the labor and birth process can be overwhelming. That’s why many of these women and their partners choose to attend childbirth classes to gather information and lessen their anxiety.
Mammoth Hospital is proud to be offering a free new series of birthing classes coming up this year. These bi-lingual classes taught by board-certified providers offer a truly unique approach to childbirth education starting July 18th.
To ensure the very best healthcare services for the women and children of our community, the Women’s Health and Pediatric clinics have teamed up and are working closely together on these classes offered in both English and Spanish.
The one hour classes offered once a week for six weeks will cover everything from nutrition and women’s health obstetrics basics, to breastfeeding, pediatrics, and alleviating symptoms of postpartum anxiety. Included in the six-week class is a full tour of Mammoth Hospital’s birthing center.
Mammoth Hospital prides itself in its first rate birthing center and has the third lowest C-section rate among low-risk mothers in California. Mono County also ranked 2nd in the state for exclusive breastfeeding rates in the state.
“Our philosophy centers around the patient and family and what we as a team can do to promote their well-being and improve their health”, says pediatrician Louisa Salisbury, M.D. She and colleagues bring their expertise in neonatal care to the birthing team and then provide a seamless transition to providing care for the developing infant as well as counseling and education to parents.
