Mammoth Hospital Receives Vons Foundation Grant to Fund Local Mammography
Mammoth Hospital recently received $10,000 toward the Breast Care Fund paid for by a grant from the The Vons Foundation.
This was the fifth year that Mammoth Hospital and Vons have collaborated for the cause. All donations will help underprivileged women of Mono County and surrounding communities pay for mammograms as part of Mammoth Hospital’s continued promise to make early breast cancer detection and treatment available to all area residents.
Yuri Parisky, M.D., Medical Imaging Director at Mammoth Hospital is very grateful to the Vons Foundation for their ongoing support of the Breast Care Fund over the years. “The Vons Foundation has again demonstrated its commitment to this community by keeping it local, providing an opportunity to care for our entire community and supporting Mammoth Hospital in its vigilance against breast cancer,” said Parisky. “Analysis of patient outcome data, demonstrates that we have favorably impacted patient lives. People are living better and longer despite the diagnosis of breast cancer.”
“The Vons Foundation and Vons employees are encouraged to know that our support has created such a profound impact to this community,” states Jenna Watkinson, spokesperson for The Vons Foundation, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Mammoth Hospital and continue to make great strides in creating healthy communities.”
